Apple Corer1 Apr 2019
Bracken likes her apple’s, so she tends to get one in the morning when we leave for work.
I thought it’d be fun to try making one of those push-down slicers and corers I’ve seen. This might be pushing it for an FDM printer, but I thought I’d give it a go.
After a few issues with the printer, the filament snapped but it is the original real I brought 9 months ago and had just about finished. So, after changing that I ended up with this:
As you might be able to see, I couldn’t resist trying it before I took the pictures, and the result was…
Well it almost works.
It removed most of the core and did split it into four pieces. About half way down the wedge shape of the blades (that I did to try and make them stronger) forced the apple apart and split it, rather than cutting.
The main problem is that after a single use the bottom has already started to delaminate.
