2017 wrapup and 2018 plans

1 Jan 2018

Well I think it’s fair to say that my plans for 2017 didn’t work. On the upside I released more content then I did in 2016, but that’s not really saying much.

It turns out the sort of projects I do aren’t reliably do-able in a week, at least not without making them so small they’re not interesting. As soon as you add in other commitments it’s easy to start missing weeks.

So I decided to try updating every other week, which worked for a bit, but it didn’t take long for that to fall apart as well.

I think the best play for 2018 is to aim for one decent sized project a month, with other random smaller things mixed in. I'm thinking that an ‘interesting stuff I’ve read this week’ post could be worth doing, as there’s lots of interesting tech news that turns up that gets missed and I have quite a lot of feeds I read daily.

Also, due to quite a few people I follow online using it, I’m going to try the whole Bullet Journal thing this year. Maybe having a bit more structure will help me get things done rather then just spending time planning and never doing stuff.
